St Woolos Cathedral
Newport

St Woolos Cathedral is grade I listed building of exceptional interest both locally and nationally.  Fewer than two percent of buildings listed in Wales qualify for this grade and the Cathedral contains some of the finest examples of Romanesque architecture in the country.  Following a quinquennial inspection in 2005 a number of serious problems were discovered. The two principal problems being the rotten C15th oak roof structure and the decaying external stone walls.

DSA have successfully completed a number of repair projects, and have designed and managed the process of reordering and lighting the interior of the church.

Michael Davies has been cathedral architect for over 15 years and continues to support and advise the PCC, Dean and Chapter through the continuous process of restoration and change.
