"The main consideration of the new building was conservation, not aesthetic, but it works wonderfully well. The oak is already becoming silvery, chiming well with the surviving stone buildings and the light inside is just gorgeous, to die for. The monks would be amazed."

ABOUT US
Davies Sutton Architects are an award winning RIBA Chartered Practice with a strong reputation for conservation architecture and creative contemporary design. Established in 1993 as a partnership between Michael Davies and Kevin Sutton, we have over twenty five years experience of producing well considered architectural solutions throughout Wales and other parts of the UK. We are passionate about our heritage and the quality of good design, as well as how this impacts upon our environment. We aim to inspire our clients and carefully guide them through the design and building process so that we can both be proud of what we have created. Our studio provides an enthusiastic team with specialist expertise in a range of skills, working in conservation, education, community, leisure and residential. We deliver hard working, creative and committed professionalism on all projects, and pride ourselves on 'listening' to our clients and ensure that the results exceed their expectations.
The practice advocates a philosophy that all new buildings and alterations to existing buildings should clearly be of their time - an approach that often involves finding new expressions for traditional forms that are relevant to 21st century building. This is achieved through the company’s sound knowledge of the evolution of construction methods and the built environment. Innovative solutions to the most challenging of design problems are provided by combining these aspirations with sound environmental principles.
