Downs Farm
Wick
Grade II listed and set within two acres of mature gardens and grounds, Downs Farm is believed to date from the mid 18th century. Constructed in randomly coursed local limestone, alterations carried out in the late 20th century re-organised much of the house internally without the necessary statutory consents.
The house has subsequently been carefully restored, with external elevations re-rendered and internal rooms caringly refurbished. The second floor has been regularised to provide a safe means of escape from the building through the re-ordering and extension of the existing rear wing. At ground floor level a sun-room maximises the available aspects and exposure of the house to the rear – it’s contemporary design executed in traditional materials that compliment the house and link it to its surrounding environment.
