St. Mary's Priory Church
Usk

Founded in the C12th by Richard de Clare, this church was once part of a Benedictine priory. Although the original nave and tower of this grade I listed church still survive, much of the original extensive prior buildings have now gone, leaving tantalising marks in the stonework to indicate the scale of the original priory.

Following a large collapse of masonry from the tower in 2016, an emergency programme of works were put in place, together with repairs identified in our quinquennial report. DSA have also been asked to look at the reordering and lighting of the church.

St Mary's is one of eight churches in the Usk Ministry that DSA are advising on future repairs and alterations.
