Planning consent for new multi faith building for Swansea University

DSA have been awarded planning permission for a new high performance prefabricated building for Swansea University. The new building is part of the ongoing development of Swansea Bay campus, and will be the second building delivered by DSA on the site, see our breakout space project. The building will provide dedicated multi-faith facilities for the university community. The simple single storey building is designed to provide adaptability for a wide range of faith based events accommodating both individual contemplation and large congregational practices.

The building is proposed for construction during the 2018/19 academic year and will be delivered using the 'Ty Unnos' Welsh timber construction. The building will make use of home-grown timber throughout in combination with natural and recycled insulations, excellent airtightness and generous natural light to ensure a healthy and sustainable internal environment.
